Detailed itinerary    

DAY 1: Arrival in Uganda 

Upon arrival, your Safari guide will be on hand to pick you up from Entebbe airport (or other specified pickup point) and transfer you to Protea Hotel Entebbe, only a 15-minute drive from the airport. 

Depending on the time of your arrival, you might have time to explore Entebbe town. There are many options in Entebbe and a tour can easily be organized at an extra cost.

DAY 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park 

After your breakfast, you will meet up with your guide in your hotel, have a briefing about the safari program, then start the journey to Murchison falls national park which is located in northwestern Uganda. This is one of the amazing savannah parks, we will have a stopover at Ziwa rhino sanctuary for rhino tracking, one and only destination where Rhinos have in their natural environment in Uganda, it will be an amazing experience to trek and see these amongst the big five animals and then proceed with your journey, you will have another stopover in Masindi town for lunch. After lunch continue the journey to Murchison falls national park, arrive early evening, enjoy the drive through the park as we head to our lodge, seeing the animals as they get back from the day grazing

DAY 3: Morning Game Drive and Afternoon Boat Cruise 

After an early breakfast, your driver guide will pick you and will head out for the morning game drive which starts very early in the morning. During the game drive you will be able to view different animals like elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, Jackson’s hartebeest, lions, waterbucks, warthogs, Uganda kobs, and different bird species among others. If you are a bird lover, your expert bird guide will help you tick off some of the interesting birds on your bird list, after you will drive to the lodge for lunch.

After lunch you will go for an interesting boat cruise adventure to the bottom of the falls where you will have an opportunity to cruise meters away from animals like elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, warthogs, waterbucks which will be drinking water along the shores, view large concentrations of hippos and Nile crocodiles in water, aquatic bird species among others. After the interesting boat ride you will meet your driver guide and return to the lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight.

DAY 4: Hiking to the Top of  the Falls  and Transfer to Kibale National Park 

Today you will savor your last sunrise & breakfast in this beautiful National Park. Your day will start with a walk to the top of Murchison Falls. The walk will last for about 30 minutes to 1 hour.  At the top of Murchison Falls, the Nile forces its way through a narrow gap in the rocks, only 7 m (23 ft) wide, and tumbles 43 m (141 ft), before flowing westward into Lake Albert. The result is a spectacular sight to behold!

After this great experience, you will proceed by road to Kibale National Park with a brief stop along the way for lunch.

Tonight, you will reside at the beautiful Kibale Forest Camp. Your stay in Kibale Forest Camp for the next two nights will offer you a unique jungle experience complete with forest sights and sounds, primates swinging through the trees and rare bird species all around. The elegant, tented camp is located in a patch of evergreen forest which borders the Magombe swamp and is a mere 10 min drive from where your chimpanzee trekking experience will start.

DAY 5: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale Forest National Park 

Today, you will be woken up by the sounds of the jungle, and served an early morning breakfast. Your guide will pick you up from your lodge and transfer you to the tracking point, where you will be briefed about the day’s trekking activity. Your whole day will be spent in the jungle trekking the chimpanzees. Trekking is a great way to get close to the chimpanzees and you will savor the chance to meet the chimps in their natural habitat. You will also have many great photo opportunities for sure. When your adventure with the chimps is over your guide will drive you back to the lodge for a relaxing evening in Kibale forest camp where you will spend the night

Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park  and Evening Game Drive 

Today, after an early morning breakfast, you will check out of your lodge and head out for a brief morning tour where you will enjoy the magnificent view of Lake Nyabikere, one of several crater lakes in the Ndali Kasenda area of Kabarole district in Western Uganda. These stunningly beautiful crater lakes, cradled in vegetation and gentle hills, are a must see for any visitor to this area. 

After lunch, you will head toward the iconic Queen Elizabeth National Park and should arrive just in time for an evening game drive to preview some of the park’s abundant wildlife. You will then check in to your lodge for a night of comfort at Kazinga Wilderness camp.

Day 7: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise

After an early breakfast, you will head out with your guide to go for a morning game drive which starts very early in the morning so as to view the early risers. During the game drive which is commonly done in Kasenyi plains you will be able to view different animals such as elephants, lions, buffaloes, waterbucks, bushbucks, warthogs, bird species, you will have an amazing morning, an opportunity to cutch of with the beautiful sun rise and also take beautiful pictures of the landscape. After the game drive you will drive back to the lodge for lunch

After lunch, you will go for an exciting boat cruise on Kazinga channel, a water body that joins Lake Edward and Lake George. The scheduled boat cruise takes about 2 to 3 hours ride and gives you an opportunity to clear photos, here you cruise meters away from large concentrations of hippos and elephants taking a bath cooling themselves in the water, other animals like buffaloes, antelopes among others which will be drinking water along the banks, bird species like egrets, flamingoes flying over, pin tailed wyder, crested eagles kingfisher.  Here you will view fisher men on the lake shores preparing their fishing gears for night fishing among others. After the interesting boat ride you will drive to the lodge for dinner and overnight

Day 8: Game Drive through Ishasha Sector and into Bwindi Impenetrable Forest 

Today, after an early morning breakfast, you will head out for a game drive in Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. The drive there runs along a path teeming with wildlife like baboons and elephants, buffaloes etc. If you are lucky, you will be able to spot the famous tree-climbing lions of Ishasha which are famous for their tree climbing skills and their knack for resting in the tree branches. 

After your game-drive, your guide will drive you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park where you will arrive early afternoon and have your lunch at the lodge, have a rest as your prepare for the day activity, one of the highlights of our safari, you will reside at the Gorilla Mist Camp for the evening.

DAY 9: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After an early breakfast, today is an exciting epic day and highlights of our safari. You will carry packed lunch, your driver guide will transfer you to the park headquarters for a gorilla trekking briefing. After the briefing you will start trekking in the jungle which takes about 30 minutes to 6 hours depending on where the mountain gorillas are located. During trekking you will be able to view a number of different primate species, mammals, different bird species, and tree species among others. This will give you a mesmerizing experience as you move to meet the gorillas. Once the gorilla family is located you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat which gives you an opportunity to watch them carry out their daily activities like feeding, breastfeeding, playing, grooming young ones, learn about their habits, behaviors, take photos and record the breathtaking moments.

Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National park

After an hour encounter with the gentle giants, you will trek back to the start point where you will be awarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking, meet up with your driver guide to go for an Optional cultural tour where you will be able to interact with the Batwa, learn about their culture, tradition, way of living, visit their homesteads, listen to their ancient stories, enjoy their traditional performances among others. After the cultural tour, you will return back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 10: Departure to Kampala

After a relaxed breakfast on this last day, you will check out of the lodge, your driver guide will transfer you to Kampala. On the way you will have en-route lunch, stopover at the Equator to take photos, buy souvenirs among others. From the Equator, you will continue to Kampala where you will arrive early in the evening and upon arrival your driver guide will drop you off at Entebbe airport for your departure flight or drop off at any place of convenience.
