East African safaris

East African safaris are some of the most exquisite safaris on the African continent, giving you fun, adventure, wonder and pure bliss of the wild. The people who go for the East African safaris will testify that their lives did not remain the same because of the beauty of the safaris they had. So in this article we want to shine some light on the east African safaris.

The east African safaris are majorly four that is Uganda safari, Rwanda safari, Kenya safari and Tanzania safari.

However, in some instances you may find that other safaris from Zanzibar, the democratic republic of Congo and Burundi are included in the list as east African safaris; which is true they are because they are part of the east African community, but for the purposes of this article we shall focus on the main four.

Uganda safari

A Uganda safari is one of the most popular Safaris because of its unique and diverse nature and wildlife.

A Ugandan safari will take you to the southwest to see the huge primates, to the west for the big five, to the east for breathtaking adventures and to the north for wonderful memories. Either place you fall you will enjoy yourself.

The popular safaris in Uganda are mountain gorilla safaris, chimpanzee safaris, savannah wildlife safaris, recreational safaris, community safaris and many other safaris.

In Uganda safaris are done all year round at all game parks and safari destinations.

Rwanda safari

Rwanda is a going safari destination, mainly because of the mountain gorillas and the thousand hills. Also in recent years, Rwanda has positioned itself to host quite a number of international events that give it an edge over the other east African nations making it a top destination.

Safaris in Rwanda are done all year round just like in Uganda and they include but not limited to mountain gorilla safaris at the volcanoes national park, chimpanzee safaris at Nyungwe national park, savannah wildlife safaris, community safaris, recreational safaris among other safaris.

Tanzania safari

A Tanzania safari is a Great Wildebeest Migration. This is the epic of a Tanzania safari on any given day.  The migration happens in July, August, and September and these are the peak months for Tanzania safaris.  Because this when the wildebeest herds reach the northernmost point of the migration and crowd at the Serengeti. Well for visitors that go to Tanzania, they will surely want to visit Serengeti for the wildebeest and also for the other animals, the big five lions, leopards, buffaloes, elephants and rhinos. And on top of that you also have bird watching sprees among other things.

Outside Serengeti Tanzania offers other wonderful safari attractions and activities. However, the tourism in the country is divided into the north part and south part. So, in most cases you will have to consult with your tour operator to get the full picture of where you want to go and what you want to experience.

Experiences in Tanzania, include, game drives, hiking the Kilimanjaro Mountain and other peaks, nature safaris, primate walks in the south, ancient city visits, cave tours etc.

Kenya Safari

Like in Tanzania, seeing the wildebeest migration in Kenya is the epitome of the Kenya safari. The wildebeest crossing the Mara River during the Great Migration in July to September at the Masai Mara National Reserve is an experience to die for. And again, this is the peak safari season in Kenya.

On top of the migration, Kenya is a wildlife hub with over 1000 animal species in several parks including Masai Mara National Reserve, Amboseli National Park, Lake Nakuru, Samburu National Reserve and Tsavo National Reserve among others. So, people will visit Kenya for a chance to see the big five especially the elephants at Amboseli. Kenya also has the flamingos in lake Nakuru, the mt Kenya experience, Hell’s gates national park experience and many others.

Kenya hosts the Kenya magical safari motor race and Kenya magical golf open that are also very great experiences to take part of.

This is just but a snippet of what the four east African safaris have, but to answer all you questions and curiosity, you need to consult your tour operator for more information.
